Resumen
The purpose of this presentation is to provide a concise survey of the Mesoamerican zero, its creation, significance, usages and a comparative timeline to its conception in India and Babylonia. Iconographic and hieroglyphic representations of the number together with their interpretations will be discussed. Finally, a connection between the Inca and Mesoamerican concepts of zero will be presented.
